Add-in · Inside AutoCAD

Surveying inside the AutoCAD you already use

If you are not going to switch programs, this goes into yours. A palette with five tabs that do the repetitive work of a survey drawing: vertices, tables, boundaries, lots and altimetry.

Spanish only, for now. This plugin's interface is currently available in Spanish only.

The five tabs

Drawing

Vertices, tables and the perimeter area.

What it does

  • Numbers the vertices with a prefix and an increment
  • Full table, bearings and distances, or coordinates
  • Area in square metres and in square varas
  • Turns loose lines and fragments into a workable polyline
  • Imports a perimeter from a text file

Description

The technical property description, in legal language.

What it does

  • Owner, department, municipality, district, canton and hamlet
  • Boundaries and direction, clockwise or counter-clockwise
  • Adjoining owners on each bearing
  • Formatting: paragraphs, capitals, bold and starting coordinate

Boundaries

Calculating and labelling the boundaries on the drawing.

What it does

  • Calculates each boundary of the perimeter
  • Labels them on the drawing

Subdivision

Splits a polygon into lots and labels them.

What it does

  • Splits the polygon into lots
  • Labels the sides
  • Deletes splits and labels

Altimetry

From the point cloud to contour lines and the profile.

What it does

  • Imports points from TXT, CSV or from the DXF itself
  • Triangulates the terrain (TIN) and lets you change the edges
  • Generates contour lines, with smoothing and labelling
  • Draws longitudinal profiles with vertical and horizontal scale and a grid

Which AutoCAD it works with

There are two builds of the add-in, one per AutoCAD generation, and they install the same way. The difference is underneath: what changes is the platform AutoCAD runs on, not what the plugin does.

AutoCAD 2025 and later

On .NET 8, which is the platform those versions use.

AutoCAD 2015 and earlier

On .NET Framework 4.5. The backwards-compatible build.

How to install it

  1. The installer puts the add-in in C:\TopoMan
  2. In AutoCAD, load it with the NETLOAD command and pick TopoMan.dll
  3. Type TopoMan to open the palette

Try it first: the trial is the whole program and it never expires. And if something does not add up, write to me.
